Hi. My name is Kathy Thomas, and I am excited about teaching 4th and 5th grade at Chaparral School!
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from U. C. Riverside. I started working at Chaparral in 1995 as an Instructional Assistant. I became a substitute teacher in 2001, and in 2002 it was my very good fortune to be hired as a 4th grade teacher here. I worked on my Teaching Credential at Cal State Fullerton during my first year and a half of teaching, and completed it in December of 2003. I am proud to be a Chaparral teacher. Chaparral has a great staff, a supportive PFA, and an outstanding student body.
My family consists of my husband Jim, a retired Verizon executive, our daughter Jenny, a middle school science teacher, our son Mark, a manager at Red Lobster, our daughter Mary, a senior at U. C. Santa Barbara, our son Ryan, a sophomore at Stanford University, and our granddaughters Kara, Mark's little girl, and Joy, Jenny's new baby.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family. I also enjoy cooking, exercising, and traveling.
I look forward to meeting you and your family at our wonderful school! |
